CHOOSING A
CAREER
If you want to advance in your
career, you must be able to decide which jobs you will take. In other words,
you must be careful to make some decisions about jobs you want to enter.
If there is a job offer, please
try to consider it carefully and evaluate whether it has value for your career
or not. Of course, it may mean sacrifice at first, for example, you may have to
move to a different country because you want to get a job that is right for
you; you may have to work late hours, at least temporally; or even you might
have to take a lower salary for a job that offers you the experience you need.
But remember not to accept a job
that is not related to your career goals. If you accept a job that is not
within your career path, this will probably trouble yourself.
Accepting such a job will not
give you the training or experience you need or want. You will find yourself
frustrated in such position and consequently you will not perform your best.
Furthermore, this will have an effect on the people around you. They will not
feel as if you are being part of the team.
The best advice is to think
carefully before accepting any position and make sure the job is one you want
to have. Be sure that a career is a job or occupation which may be regarded as
a long term activity to make a living. Once again, choose a job that is within
your career path; namely, a job that is relevant to your skills.
